New chrome options for the Kenworth W990 are now available for purchase through the PACCAR Parts line of Kenworth accessories.

Kenworth is adding the TruckTech+® Remote Diagnostics system as an option for its medium duty conventional trucks.

With the addition of a brand new paint facility, Kenworth will increase its Chillicothe, Ohio, manufacturing plant by nearly 25 percent. The expansion will also add another 100 jobs to the sprawling Kenworth Chillicothe plant property.

The new paint facility will come online in 2021, the company announced at a groundbreaking ceremony held on April 24, 2019. The $140-million, 120,000-square-foot building will sit adjacent to Kenworth’s 502,000-square-foot Class 8 truck manufacturing plant.

Kenworth now offers two additional ratings for the 12.9-liter PACCAR MX-13 engine, which is available in the Kenworth T680, T880, and the all-new W990.

The Kenworth T880 is now available in a set-forward axle and sleeper configuration designed for long-haul applications. Until early 2019, the set-forward axle only came in a T880 day cab.

The T880 has revolutionized the vocational and heavy-haul segments of the trucking industry, and now it’s poised to make a deeper dent on the class 8 market with the added options of the set-forward design. Called T880s, the set forward sleeper should be popular with bulk commodities and flatbed transporters because it’s able to support greater “tongue weight.”

Before a PACCAR MX engine is put to work in a customer truck, the design gets run through a gauntlet of countless hours of testing to ensure quality, performance, and best-in-class service life.

Designed for one million miles (more to come on that point), the MX-13, up to 510 hp, or the smaller and lighter MX-11, up to 430 hp, is spec’d in the majority of PacLease Class 8 trucks in a full-service lease.
