French Ellison Truck Center, located in San Antonio, TX, is seeking a talented individual to join us as a Human Resources Assistant. This position is ideal for an individual with a degree or related degree in human resources (preferred), experience in human resources, and effective communication skills. Responsibilities:
- Administering the Human Resources programs for the company which includes staffing, compensation, training, and performance management
- The Human Resources Assistant is primarily responsible for benefit administration, record keeping, and employee relations within a diverse workforce
- Primarily responsible for processing all HR paperwork and maintaining HR data
Primary Duties:
- Processing benefit enrollments, reconciling monthly benefit bills, working with insurance carriers, and assisting employees
- Responsible for open enrollment activities including leadership during employee benefit meetings as well as payroll and carrier updates
- Updates and maintains job descriptions, processes all potential applicant materials, and corresponds with the appropriate management team
- Responsible for the coordination and billing of regulated and non-regulated pre-employment physicals and drug screens
- Works with the Vice President of Human Resources on a variety of projects including analysis and implementation
- Assists in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures
- Administration of FMLA, WC, and disability leave in accordance with federal, state, and carrier policies
- All other duties as assigned; some travel may be required
Qualifications:
- Associates’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related degree
- 2+ years human resources experience with specific knowledge of benefit administration, staffing, compensation, training, performance management, and employee relations
- Knowledge and ability to understand and apply regulations, procedures, and guidelines
- Must have a high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations
- Highly proficient using Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint; experience maintaining information and writing reports in HRIS systems
- Ability to prioritize work within established guidelines and follow through on a variety of requests
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail is required
