CSM Companies, Inc, is seeking a talented individual to join our team as a Safety/Compliance Specialist.   • Ensure compliance with governmental DOT regulations by providing effective oversight of CDL holder records
  • Facilitate effective transport of vehicles as requested by branch management
  • Oversee corporate OSHA-related safety programs

Primary Duties:

  • Ensure driver CDL & Medical Cards are kept current (not expired)
  • Interact with branch office staff to:
    • Identify and follow up on identified driving behavior issues/trends
    •  Ensure driver logs and other paperwork are complete and delivered effectively between drivers and the corporate office
  • Ensure branch requests for movement of vehicles are fulfilled
  • Ensure accuracy of driver-related paperwork
  • Promote effective communication with branches to ensure all needed information is obtained in a timely fashion
  • Oversee company USDOT# information and track FMCSA, safety data, and other records
  • Maintain and follow up on identified safety-related issues at branch locations
  • Serve as the company liaison with our third party Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Risk Management solutions provider

Secondary Duties:

  • Other duties as assigned


  • Associate’s degree (AA) or comparable work experience
  • At least 2 years general office experience, preferably in a DOT compliance related environment
  • Knowledge of (or capacity to quickly become familiar with) USDOT FMCSA regulations, including driver log requirements, and risk abatement
  • Experience with J.J. Keller Fleet Mentor and/or Lytx Drive Cam systems preferred, but not required
  • Must be highly organized, detail-oriented and results-driven
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines while simultaneously processing multiple tasks
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Computer, telephone and customer service skills a must
