Kirkland, Washington 2020- Kenworth recently introduced a new radiator mounted/optional grille which is now available for the T880S with the 114-inch BBC (bumper to back of cab) short hood. This new option allows the hood to be opened where equipment is placed to the front of the T880S.
The new grille makes it possible to open the hood even when an attachment is mounted to the front of the T880S.
“The fixed grille is an excellent option for truck operators who use the Kenworth T880S as snowplows, cranes, vacuum trucks or other applications that require equipment mounted in front of the hood,” said Laura Bloch, Kenworth assistant general manager for sales and marketing.
The Kenworth T880S offers low operating cost, excellent performance/productivity, and is an extremely comfortable truck.
The T880S was designed specifically for fleet and truck operators in ready-mix, dump and mobile crane applications. This version of the T880 is known for its excellent maneuverability and visibility while out on the road or job site.
The T880S comes with a set forward axle (ranging from 14,600-22,800 lbs) and comes with the standard Paccar-MX13 engine, up to 510 horsepower, and 1,850 lb-ft of torque. If you’re looking for a lighter truck, then the 10.8 liter Paccar-MX11 engine is 400 pounds lighter than other larger engines and still offers up to 430 horsepower and 1,650 lb-ft of torque.
