Dedicated Fleet Services (DFS), known for customized fleet care, has been building heavy duty flatbed bodies for a national distributor. Fifteen completed builds into the first order, the company is poised for many more builds in the program.

To enable the operation and alleviate the crunch felt by the customer’s in-house shop, DFS contracted a local supplier who installed a 7.5 ton overhead crane and rail system. This system allows for the flipping, rotating, and mounting of massive steel structures.

DFS builds flatbeds and conveyor beds – 36-foot and 40-foot lengths – for ABC Supply. The process to build the bodies starts with a semi load of steel and prefabricated pieces. Conveyors, raw steel, pre-fabbed headache rack pieces (notched out for rear vision), and turrets come into the DFS Janesville facility from a multitude of vendors.

DFS does all of the wirings for the accessories that are installed in these trucks. Tool boxes, cone holders, and strap assemblies are also fixed to the trucks.
